Overview

• AIRATE(a.k.a KTRS) is an evaluation tool through which the commercial viability and risks associated with a certain technology project or an SME are assessed in relation to other SMEs in the same industry. In-depth analysis can be performed by AIRATE on such factors as technological competence, market situation and growth potential of the rated technology project.
• Technology Rating is presented as an outcome of the assessment. The rating shows a relative standing of the rated SME in terms of technological prowess and credit risk in comparison with the other SMEs, serving as an input to the decision-making process as to whether to provide financing.
• Provided along with the rating is the 'Technology Appraisal Report' which contains the details pertaining to the final rating, key rating considerations as well as a brief snapshot of the rated company.
• Since the July 2005 development and introduction of the KOTEC Technology Rating System(KTRS), KOTEC's independent technology rating system that assesses and grades technological competitiveness, marketability, business feasibility of technologies held by enterprises, KOTEC has been continuously improving and supplementing the system.
  
  In June 2020, based on the analysis results of the accumulated technology appraisal data of about 330,000 cases, it finished the development of a new technology rating system (AIRATE) where experts' opinions and AI technology are seamlessly combined to calculate the appraisal grade, marking a first among financial support appraisal models, and it has been applying this system throughout the entire scope of technology appraisal work in 2022. AIRATE is a technology appraisal system that applies scientific and automated learning algorithms utilizing AI and big data technologies, and as a result of its own performance verification, it was confirmed that its prediction performance has improved compared to existing appraisal models.
